Dress Code
Comfortable clothes (sweatpants, leggings, basketball shorts, etc.) and sneakers
No jeans or boots (unless approved by choreographer).
Payment
Payment is required prior to the start of the semester (unless alternative arrangements have been arranged with ESDC staff)
Missed classes are not pro-rated or redeemable for cash
Refunds:
We offer full refunds prior to the 2nd week of weekday classes. On the start of the third week after classes start, we have a strict no refund policy
Sunday Company Rehearsals are nonrefundable
Attendance / Punctuality
Please inform us of any expected absences up to 24hrs before the scheduled class time
Arriving late to class can be disruptive to other students, distracting to the focus of a learning atmosphere and difficult on the groups’ progression in learning. Please inform us if you know your child is going to be late
If you are more than 15 minutes late to class, it is up to your teachers’ discretion as to whether or not you will be allowed to join the class on the floor, or be required to only observe
ESDC does not offer make up classes as each class is specifically tailored to the students registered.
All ESDC Classes:
Due to the rigor of the curriculum, a maximum of 3 absences are allowed (barring special circumstances communicated to ESDC staff)
Exceeding this 3 absence limit may result in student not being able to participate in the final performance
Class Etiquette
Cell phone use is not permitted during class time -- please leave phones on silent or turn them off
Negativity and disruptive behavior is not tolerated at ESDC. We ask that distractions be kept at a minimum while class is in session. Teachers reserve the right to ask a student to sit out for a portion of class
Personal space is imperative in a dance class. Please respect others in this shared environment
Note to Parents:
Children will not be permitted to enter the studio until 5 minutes prior to the start of class. If they arrive earlier, they will be required to wait outside, so we urge you not to leave them unattended. [There are several restaurants and cafes in the area that can comfortably accommodate the wait]
We understand that children may get anxious as class time approaches. However, please understand that shaking and banging on our door can be both disruptive to classes that are in session as well damaging to the door itself. We kindly ask you to address such behavior if it occurs
Please make sure your children use the bathroom prior to arriving to prevent from emergency bathroom needs while another class is in session
Parents will not be allowed to watch while class is in session, as it is a distraction for the students
